Although they gained initial popularity for featuring on the Disney Channel shows, the Jonas Brothers is an American band consisting of three brothers- Kevin, Joe, and Nick. The brothers formed the Jonas Brothers band in 2005.
Early Life and Music Career
The Jonas Brothers were born and raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey. The family of six, their parents, Denise and Paul Kevin, and their younger brother Frankie moved to Little Falls, New Jersey.
In 2005, the brothers recorded their first-ever song titled ‘Please Be Mine.’ After the song’s release, the brothers signed up by Columbia Records. Initially, the band was supposed to be named ‘Sons of Jonas,’ but they decided to call the band ‘Jonas Brothers.’
The Jonas Brothers band released their debut studio album titled ‘It’s About Time’ in 2006. The band released singles from the album- ‘Mandy’ and ‘Year 3000.’ It’s About Time had a limited release with only 50000 copies created.
The band signed up with Hollywood Records in 2007 and released their eponymous second album ‘Jonas Brothers.’ The album peaked at the number five position on Billboard 200. Two singles from the album- ‘Hold On’ and ‘S.O.S.,’ received a lot of appreciation.
The brothers came out with their third studio album ‘A Little Bit Longer’ in 2008.
The band forayed into movies with their Disney Channel Original films Camp Rock’ and ‘Camp Rock 2’ in 2008. Joe Jonas played the male lead ‘Shane Gray,’ Nick played guitarist ‘Nate,’ and Kevin Jonas played the role of another guitarist ‘Jason.’ The movie catapulted them to popularity among children and teens.
The band’s fourth studio album, ‘Lines, Vines and Trying Times, was released in June 2009.
The band members went on a hiatus in 2010-2011; they cited the reason for the break as the band members wanted to focus on their respective solo careers.
The band members reconciled in 2012 with the intent of recording a new album, but as fate had it, the band broke up again in 2013.
After six years following their split, the Jonas Brothers released the single ‘Sucker’ in March 2019. The song became a chartbuster- becoming the first number-one single of the band; it was the 34th song in the history of American music to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Jonas Brothers band released their fifth studio album in June 2019. The album was titled ‘Happiness Begins.’

Accolades
