Who is Eric Clapton
Eric Clapton is an English guitarist, songwriter, and singer. His genre is rock and blues. He was ranked no.2 in the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time by Rolling Stone. He was counted no.4 in the “Top 50 Guitarists of All Time” list by Gibson.
He was also crowned number five in the list of “The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players by Time.
Before joining the Yardbirds in 1963, Clapton used to play guitar in different local bands. However, his journey with the Yardbirds didn’t last beyond 1965. He left the band because he was unsatisfied with their pop-rock sound.
In 1966, he formed Cream with bassist Jack Bruce and drummer Ginger Baker. After Cream disbanded, Clapton formed a blues rock band, Blind Faith. Once again, the band didn’t last and broke up after recording their first album. Clapton then pursued a solo career in 1970.
He performed with many well-known artists during his solo career, including Derek and the Dominos and Delaney & Bonnie. He also recorded multiple solo albums.

Eric Clapton’s full name is Eric Patrick Clapton. He was born on March 30, 1945, in Ripley, Surrey, England. He received his first guitar at 13, but he started playing it consistently after two years of his 13th birthday.
Clapton got his inspiration from blues music and practised for hours. He used to record his practice sessions and listen to them on repeat. He was expelled from Kingston College of Art because he focused more on guitar than art.
By 16, Clapton was getting attention for his guitar skills. In 1962, he started performing in different pubs along with Dave Brock.
