The Ultimate Trey Songz Lyrics Quiz | 30 Questions

Trey Songz

Tremaine Aldon Neverson, also known as ‘Trey Songz,’ is a hip-hop artist, songwriter, record producer, and actor from the United States.

He was educated as a military brat, and because he had no positive male influences in his life, he valued his mother’s power so much that he bought her a house shortly after becoming famous.

To offset the adverse effects of celebrity and stardom, he constantly gives back to his community and assists the poor. He was timid and reserved in his childhood, but his friends and family prodded him out of his shell and encouraged him to pursue his singing talent.

They instructed him to drop the words ‘Rap’ and ‘Croon’ in favor of something more appropriate for his ‘tenor voice.’

Childhood

On 28 November 1984, he was born in Petersburg, Virginia, to Claude Neverson Jr and April Tucker.

April Tucker remarried a fellow of the United States Army, and they stayed around various military bases for the successive seven years, eventually settling in Petersburg. Trey started his first year at Petersburg High School here.

He entered the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School Talent Show in 1998. He entirely captivated the large audience, a foreshadowing of his future success.

Trey participated in several other talent shows following the success of his first. Record producer Troy Taylor saw him at one of these shows. Troy offered Trey a recording contract with Atlantic Records after being impressed with his singing ability.

His debut single, ‘Gotta Make It,’ featuring Twista, was released in 2005. The single came at number 87 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 21 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

His album ‘Trey Day,’ which starred R. Kelly, Danja, Stargate, and Jimmy & Terry Lewis, was released in 2007 after a prolonged search for a hit single to precede it. It peaked at number 11 on the Billboard 200.
