At a point in time, we have seen the rise of multiple numbers of bands with unique and creative names come up. Some music talents came together and formed one such band with a different, weird name in 2004. 

The name of the band was ‘Panic! At The Disco.’

Formation

It will spark your interest to know that the band decided to drop the exclamation point from their name to become ‘Panic At The Disco’ in 2008. The band initially had two friends, Ryan and Spencer, who invited other friends to join. More in detail about the band members later in the article.

Yes, so ‘Panic! At The Disco’ was started by Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, Brent Wilson, and Brendon Urie. All four of them were so dedicated to music that they decided to quit their education.

The band was a cover band who initially sang songs by another American rock band called ‘Blink-182’. The band faced a certain amount of backlash at the start when Decaydance Records signed them in 2004.

Band Members

Initially, having started with four members, the band did have a few more at a later point in time. 

Brendon Urie

Technically, he is the only current band member and performs solo under Panic! At The Disco.’ He plays multiple instruments and also provides the lead vocals.

Urie joined the band back in their formation days as a guitarist, however considering his vocal skills, he soon became the band’s lead member replacing Ryan Ross as the lead singer.

He is well-known for his four-octave tenor range of vocals.

Ryan Ross

One of the two initial members, Ryan Ross, was the band’s lead vocalist before being replaced by Brendon Urie. He later became the lead guitarist and the primary songwriter for the group, continuing his position before he quit the band in 2009.

Along with another former member, he formed another band called ‘The Young Veins’ in 2009; this collaboration ended in 2010.

Spencer Smith

Smith was the second founder member of the band and its former drummer. He was a part of four band’s studio albums and quit the band in 2015 to resolve his drug issues.

Currently, he works as a talent finder and manager at DCD2 Records.

Brent Wilson

Brent Wilson was the bass guitarist of ‘Panic! At The Disco,’ and was its member from 2004 to 2006.

Jon Walker

Walker was the band’s former bassist and band member from 2006 to 2009. He went on to form another band with Ryan Ross, where he acted as the lead guitarist and split vocalist. 

The other band, ‘The Young Veins’ went on a hiatus in 2010, and Jon Walker now acts as a solo artiste majorly into songwriting and music production.

Dallon Weekes

Dallon Weekes was a part of ‘Panic! At The Disco‘ from 2009 to 2017. While with them, he acted as a backing vocalist, keyboardist, bassist, and songwriter.

Currently, he is the frontman for the rock duo, ‘I Don’t Know How But They Found Me.’
