Big Time Rush is also known as BTR, an American pop band established in Los Angeles, California.
The band comprises Logan Henderson, Kendall Schmidt, Carlos PenaVega, and James Maslow. Before signing with Columbia Records, the band was initially signed to Nick Records in 2009.

· Career
The band formation started in 2009 when Big Time Rush was signed by Nickelodeon for a record deal and the Nickelodeon TV series ‘Big Time Rush.’
On November 29, 2009, their debut single for the show titled “Big Time Rush” was released. Several other promotional singles were released, including “Any Kind of Guy” and “The City is Ours.”
On April 27, 2010, following its premiere on the show, the song “Halfway There” was released to iTunes and became the band’s first song on the Billboard Hot 100.
The band released their second single on September 21, 2010, titled “Till I Forget About You.” The single was released for the promotion of their debut album “BTR,” which was released on October 11, 2010.
The album sold 67,000 copies in its first week of recording and peaked at number four and number one on the Internet Albums Chart and the Soundtracks Chart, respectively.
After selling over 500,000 copies in the United States, the album was certified Gold.
On February 15, 2011, Big Time Rush released a third single titled “Boyfriend.” The song peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 at number seventy-two and number thirty on the Billboard Pop Songs in 2011, becoming the band’s most famous song.
In 2011, the band was nominated for the Breakthrough Band award, and their single “Boyfriend “ was nominated in Mexico for a Premios Oye! award. The band, however, lost to Rihanna for her song “Diamonds.”
In anticipation of their second album, Elevate, the band launched a promotional single titled “If I Ruled the World” on July 22, 2011.
The album was released on November 21, 2011, hitting number 12 on the Billboard 200 and sold more than 70,000 copies in its first week of release.
The band embarked on a headlining tour to further promote their second album. The Better With U Tour took place in several cities in North America between February and March 2012.
Following the tour was a national summer tour announced in late February and began on July 5 at the Nationwide Arena, Columbus.
After the end of the Big Time Rush Nickelodeon series in 2013, the band continued on tours until March 2014, when they put the band on indefinite hold while facing their individual careers.
During this time, Kendall Schmidt went on to form a band with Dustin Belt, which they called the Heffron Drive.
On April 20, 2020, the band uploaded a video together on their social media platforms showing that they had reunited.

Big Time Rush was nominated for Favorite International Band among several other nominations and awards during the Australian Kids’ Choice Awards in 2010.
They were also nominated for and won the Super Pop Artist/Group of the Year award at the Golden Bravo Otto Awards in 2010.
In 2011, “Boyfriend” was nominated for and won the Favorite Song award at the Argentina Kids’ Choice Awards.
