Pantera Pantera was an Arlington, Texas-based heavy metal band that formed in 1981. The band was led mainly by the Abbott brothers (drummer Vinnie Paul and guitarist Dimebag Darrell) and vocalist Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown.
